sport responsibility (league/post season)

It is common for league athletic directors to share the workload during each of the sports seasons.  As the commissioner for a league sport, you may be responsible creating the specific sport schedule, running the post-season event, and communicating with the coaches in the league. 
Key items to consider:

• League responsibilities
  • Are you in charge of a sport for the league?
  • Who is a good resource within the league with prior experience whom you may draw from?
  • Creation of league master schedule (possibly sub-varsity as well)
  • Coaches meetings (pre and post)
  • Post season preparation and tournaments
    • Is your tournament a state qualifier?  Who do you need to contact at District or WIAA level?
• District responsibilities
  • Eligibility hearing dates
  • Meeting schedule
  • Playoff/post-season dates
• State Association (WIAA) responsibilities
  • Calendar of events
    • Last day that state qualifying competition may be held
